Well.. since I’m playing Jobu a lot now and in a guild.. with a guild website forums… and it’s Tuesday and the servers are down.. I have caught you a delicious bass.. no.. no.. NO! I have made a new signature graphic.

I moved Jobu off the 2nd account onto the first and transfered him.  I am playing with Crikett and a few of the old Darkblood EQ people.  A very few.  Hopefully Dawes will come over to this server too after he gets settled in Korea.  I’m not sure who he’s bringing.. his rogue is the best but doesn’t seem to be needing anything that he could get running with <Wreck List>.  *shrug*  I guess whoever he wants to play still will be who he brings.  Would be a little boring to be running stuff that you’d never improve your character with.  That’s just me though I guess.

Anyone else out there in it yet?

Chris Hash’s WoW account was hacked… again.. most stuff in <Autonomous Collective>’s guildbank was gone.. I reported the incident to the GM’s and our stuff should be restored again soon I hope.  Go go $6.50 peace of mind, shipping included.  Anyone that doesn’t have an authenticator yet is, well.. just silly.  That’s a nice way of putting it.

I removed Hash’s two toons from the guild while the jerk on his account was online.  I can’t remember him having any other characters in the guild.  Threecard and Fourtune were the only ones, right?

If you aren’t gonna run noscript in Firefox (or the equivalent in IE) then at least keep your operating system up to date with patches and most importantly.. keep Adobe’s FLASH PLAYER UPDATED.  Java too if you have it installed.. especially if you insist on using friggin porn sites.  Shame on you for that.   You can become infected with keyloggers injected into your system by visiting sites with harmful flash embedded in them that exploit vulnerabilities in un-updated Flash players.

Use Spybot Seek and Destroy and Hijack This and a good Anti Virus.. even a free one, many of which are better than ones you pay for *cough* Norton *coughsucks*.. keep em updated and scan.

If you just can’t be bothered to keep your computer as safe as possible from predators (it’s not just your wow account, but if you bank online.. retirement plan online.. jeez you are just asking for it..  well get an authenticator at least for 6 bucks for WoW.  It alone won’t stop somebody determined from hacking you if your machine is vulnerable.. but it really is a big enough deterrent that most folks aren’t going to go to the lengths necessary (timing man in the middle attacks against you while you log in on your compromised machine) to save your account.

Every Day The Same Dream.  More than a little dark, more than a little creepy, more than a little cant-stop-trying-to-help-this-poor-dude.

So, the new weekly on Hydraxis is to take out Lord Marrowgar again.  It’s 4:30ish Tuesday morning.  We manage to assemble 10 folks fairly quickly.  I remind people that although it’s a new weekly quest already, that it’s not a new raid lockout yet and to please check to see if they are saved.  Three people quit the raid.

We refill spots, two DPS and one healer, within a couple minutes.  I head toward Ice Crown Citadel and there’s somebody at the stone waiting for me to help summon.  One of the new DPS to the raid zones in and asks “Where is everybody?”  Great.. another one.  He works out that he’s saved, he’s sorry, etc.  Gate back to Dalaran, find a new DPS.. get two people back outside to summon us again.  As soon as we are resummoned, we get the dreaded yellow text of a server announcement:  “This server will be coming down for weekly maintenance blah blah blah”

Oh crap!  I was expecting two more hours and the server to come down at the normal 7pm central time…time.  Nope.. must be patch 3.3.3 is dropping today.  (It is.)   15 minutes and we aren’t all inside yet.  I make a plea to hurry up, buff up and start pulling!

I stealth ahead a little and find the first two traps fairly close and disarm them.  There’s only a third that spawns randomly(??) if you trigger one or both of the others is the way it works I think.  I make my way back to the massive pile of bones being exploded by the rest and throw my spinning hurricane of daggers into them over and over.

The tanks have tried to pull just the middle mobs but that effort failed, not due to the tanks fault.. it’s just not gonna happen that smoothly =)  We burn our way to the threshold to the three headed skeletal monstrosity Lord Marrowgar, staring at him with just over 4 minutes left till the server boots us all off.   A couple missing buffs go up fast and several plead to “PULL PULL!” and emphatic “GOGOGOGO!” yells and we charge the first of the Lich King’s lieutenants.

His health doesn’t seem to be going down very fast.. then it all just kicks into high gear (thanks bloodlust!) after the first whirling bonestorm.  Everyone is doing well.. the bonespike is dying fast.  The DK and I are both dropping to make sure it does as you never know if the ragtag group of people in a pug at 4:30am on Tuesday morning know what to do =)  They seem too though and I whisper the DK to stay on the boss as he’s out DPSing me by 1k or more. (I guess if I wasn’t switching, my ramp up time to max DPS from max poison applications would have made up the difference.. I’m not QQ’ing really haha)  I just wanted something to happen so it seemed easier to ask the switch of me than them.  There was at least one ranged killing the spike too and they still got freed fast.

The boss’s health bar is dropping.. but unfortunately it’s now in a sprint with the clock counting down… and the clock is much faster.  The clock easily passes the health bar and everything stops as everything in our world ceases to exist and the server is offline.  9% left on Marrowgar.

We all knew we had no shot of literally zoning in to boss kill in under 15 minutes.. but damn if we didn’t come close.  It sure seemed like everyone was doing everything they could the whole time we were inside to make it happen too.  If we’d not wasted that last bit of time with the saved screwball.. we’d have had it!  I think it caught all of us unaware.  I know I forgot about the patch probably coming today and the extra time that Blizzard would give itself for the downtime.  The server didn’t let my low expectations down (the few people that ruined it for us, unintentionally I know) but it did entertain me still during the mad rush.  It was actually pretty fun.

The first fun I’ve had on Hydraxis in a long time.
