Well, as most of you all have heard I will no longer be employed at Ameristar Casino after this upcoming Friday. I have accepted a position as an Operations Analyst for Cellnet. Basically, a Hi-Tech Meter Reader Overseer. I sit and watch a network of wireless/wired devices that read utility meters. When something goes wrong, I take the information, try to find the problem, and if I cannot correct the problem, I flag it and send it on to someone else.
Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed working with you guys. There are going to be so many things I will miss (The inside jokes about certain players, Work Meetings, Frank’s B.S.), and a few I won’t. (High Limit, Let-It_die, Frank’s B.S.) (j/k Frank) In the last four and a half years I have worked there I have made some really good friends and learned alot from them too. I wish you all the best and will still be around. Just not gonna’ be tapping you off of a game.
Grant “Popcorn” Goodwin
P.S. Crap, does this mean you will have lil’ inside jokes about me!?!? (I know, I know, you always have.)

I figured I would give everyone a fair shake at this WIT. Chances are Scott would guess it the moment I sent it to him. (BTW, Scott check your e-mail. Sent you the image too.)

My 2 cents, with the huge drop in Laptop prices over the last few years, it really isn’t worth going with a referb or used system. You could get a decent laptop that will allow you to do everything (With the exception of BIG gaming.) for about $400-500 bucks. $500-700 will get you a noticeably faster laptop. And, $1000-2000 will get you that gaming laptop that would run almost any game out there today. Tack about $100-200 onto any of those prices and you get your pricing for a Mac Laptop. Being creative and an artist at heart, I enjoy having things looking nice as well as functional, even if it costs a little more. Like my most recent system build: Antec 900 Case, Razor Copperhead (Blue LED), Razor Tarantula Keyboard. All Matte Black and Blue LED’s. Yeah, I paid a little more than I could have on some parts, but to me it is well worth it. Just depends on what you want to pay.

OK, since everyone else is posting their new systems. I guess I will too.
Case: Antec – Nine Hundred
Motherboard: MSI – 945GM3
Processor: Intel – 3.0ghz P4
RAM: CRUCIAL – Ballistix – 2 Gig
HDD: 2x WD 250gb 7200rpm/16meg
Power Supply: ULTRA – 500watt
Video Card: HIS – Radeon HD 2600 – 512Meg
Operating System: Windows XP – Home Edition (I have my reasons.)
Monitors: 2x Chimei – 19″ Wide Screen LCD
Additional Items: Also bought a little UV tube that works with the Power Supply to add a little zing. Overall, about $900.00 after rebates. (Mainly because of the dual monitors and 2×250 HD) Otherwise would be about $700.00. I wanted to go ahead with XP because I use my PC for more than just gaming and e-mail. I also do side work in the graphic design field. I wanted to make sure I built a system that would be the most proficient for my needs, hence, the Single Core and XP.

Just got the last of my parts and the O/S for my new PC in today. Got everything connected. Now it is time to head to work. Guess I will have to wait till after work tonight to install the O/S and finish everything up. Ugh, gonna’ be a really long night.
