Talk Is Cheap

I went and bought a vent server for AC tonight! 30 man vent is up and ready. Scott I may need some additional help getting it all set up. Giving Rossa and Cabowabo admin access in the vent server for add/kick/ban of anyone as well as reserve spots. I’m putting the login info in the AC guild info page. Call me or talk to me at work if you have any questions.

This is the UI I’ve been messing around with lately. The blank area between recount and bartender is where Omen shows up. Let me know what you think I should add or change.

Finally after a week of near misses, btw….why do they call them near misses when the actually miss….nvm……after a week of near misses the wife and I experienced the birth of a beautiful baby boy this morning at 11:35 am. 8lb 11oz Nolan Ryan Cook was brought into the big bad world in a flurry of screaming and tears. Yes his name is Nolan Ryan by the way, not a joke of any kind. Luckily the hospital has a very good wireless connection for the laptop so I’m able to share this with all the RL friends I have. Thanks for all the kind comments guys. See you in two weeks.

Well boys and girls…..the contractions are about 4 minutes apart so I think the baby is coming today. Wish us health and luck. I’ll probably be back on sometime this weekend, but I don’t think I’ll be doing anything longer than a quick heroic for the next week or so. I’m so excited….crap…wife aggro…..bye!

So in my infinite wisdom, I decided not to try out the new 51 point talent in Demonology with the free respec in order to obtain the new talents in the Destruction tree. After a couple of days with nobody wanting to run heroics, for plenty of different reasons, I decided to go ahead and fork over the gold to check out the new talent of Metamorphosis. Sure he looks cool, and it’s nice to see my old felguard buddy again, but I just can’t seem to find any real “need” for this talent….or tree for that matter. I loved having the felguard while solo questing while leveling, but I had no idea what I was missing out on in the way of dps. I’ll admit it, I’ve become the dps whore that you hate to be grouped with. You all know the guy. He is constantly broadcasting the damage meters and giving the other dps group members crap about keeping up and telling the tank to “grab him” once he pulls aggro. Yeah, yeah…..Thatguy! I can’t help it! I love to blow sh!t up! It’s FUN! Anyhow, I digress. The metamorphosis give you 30 seconds to be a demon (supposedly Illidan) in which time you still have function over your summoned demon, still have the ability to cast damage spells, and three stance specific (yes metamorphosis is a stance) talents: Demon Charge, Demon Growl, and Cleave. Demon Charge is pretty self explanatory in the fact that you, well, charge your target stunning him for 1.5 seconds. Demon Growl taunts all mobs within 10 yards. (yes..a cloth wearing toon given the talent to pull every mob around you) Cleave hits your target and two nearby mobs for 110 shadow damage with a six second cooldown. It should be noted that in “demon form” warlocks get a 600% armor boost, but really, what is 600% cloth armor? ONE PLATE BRACER! Now you may set up the argument that one can still cast ranged spells from this form. That’s correct, but why waste the global cooldown of casting the spell if you’re planning on casting in the first place? Another might bring up the fact that 30 seconds is plenty of time to melee down 1-2 equal or lower level mobs. Fine….if you have a weapon designed for that! My staff kicks a decent amount of ass. I have 250 spell power on it! And a whopping 69 dps melee! So just how long does it take to get the center of a tootsie roll pop? Just long enough to expire your 30 seconds in “demon form” and be stuck trying to melee one, or more, mobs…..IN CLOTH! Sure he looks cool, but I’m re-rolling destruction.

One last big /wave from the room that witnessed my birth into the online sensation that is WoW. In about 15 minutes I’ll be unravelling a mess of wires and /cough dust from behind the “Battle Zone”. Wednesday between the hours of 2pm-5pm the fine people of Time Warner will escort me back into Azeroth from my new home. I look forward to seeing you all soon.

So as Arena Season 4 kicks off I’m in Omaha, NE. The only computer near me is in the hotel lobby and and the only server it hooks up to is Flo, the waitress at the Perkins next door. All is not lost though as TW and I are coming down the elevator to the greatness that is the free breakfast the house cleaning staff is gearing up for another day on the job. This may not seem too unusual but I take comfort in the fact that no matter where I go now, I run into something familiar. One of the staff is wearing a shirt that reads, “Night Elf Chicks Are Hot!”. This only makes me hunger for in-game material and I must suffer the rest of the day as I know that the only mobs I will see are mobs of children at the zoo and the only Elite Boss I’ll face in my wife, both of which I am not geared for and am looking at a certain wipe. This is my latest attempt at updating my UI. I don’t use a top shelf UI like some of the guys, but just simple addons to help me manage my spells (locks have too many to keybind and remember). Lets see the rest of your screens!
