Simple Science Quiz

It’s sad that so many people got these so horribly wrong, so If you miss a couple, take comfort in knowing that a large percentage of the American populace get so many of these questions wrong too.

It’s no wonder that there are so many people that believe the Earth and humans were created only a few thousand years ago or so when simple facts of science and forms of technology eludes so many folk’s understanding.

Only 75% of high school graduates know which travels faster, light or sound. That means that 1 out of every 4 HS graduates.. You would think people with masters degrees and PHD’s.. that every one of them would know? Nope.. 10% don’t.

Roughly 1 out of every 3 people don’t know that the father’s gene that determines if a baby is a boy or a girl.

Less than half of HS graduates know that it takes 1 year for the Earth to revolve around the sun. 1/3 of college graduates and 1/4 of masters/phd’s didn’t know. LESS THAN HALF of HS grads? People.. sheesh.

It’s appalling how such a large number of people don’t have understanding of the questions on this little quiz. Overall this test has been given many times to many thousands of people since 1979 I believe. Over and over, basically the same questions. On a mean, of all the surveys done, people only answered approx 55% of the questions correctly.

Half… HALF!
