I currently have an old CRT hooked up to the on board video chip. Thus, how I’m able to see that the video card isn’t being detected. I took the card out, reinstalled and…same thing. Nothing…nada…bumpkis. I am so lost.

I like the size of the small one, but my resizing didn’t work as I thought it would. Could you make the top one the same size as the smaller?

When you said “System doesn’t detect the card at all”, how do you know if you don’t have monitor that works on it? Can you see the P.O.S.T screen before monitor goes into standy/no signal mode?

This won’t figure out your monitor situation (it sounds like you’ve figured out it’s bad already) but make sure the video card is fully seated in the slot not by looking but by taking it all the way out and re-installing it.

It sucks when you think there might be two failures at the same time. It’s also pretty unlikely, although it’s happened to me with parts that were much less obvious to be not working anymore =) The chance of a video card messing up a monitor is pretty small as there is such a small amount of amperage out of it but anything’s possible I guess.
