Player throws in $6 (a nickel and a penny) says, “6 and 8 hard”. Stick picks up cheques, looks at player, sets cheques down. Picks up cheques, looks at player, sets cheques down. Says to player, “which one do you want the nickel on, my friend?”
A few minutes later as I’m relaying this comical story to Frankie B, player on his game throws in $6 and says, “6 and 8 hard”. Without missing a beat, Frankie B responds, “Which one would you like the nickel on sir”. Now Master Chin is all confused….. DIce are out…..

Sounds like you just had a craps class finish. I don’t think I was ever that bad as a n00b! We have a lot of fresh break-ins where I’m at and I worked with one yesterday. The box was less than patient. A player throws in a nickel and I call out “5 action” because it is the come out roll and this player has been betting the same thing on the come out roll for the past hour and a half. It’s a $2 C/E, hard 6, 8, 10 all working (hardways work on the come out roll down here unless called off). Since the dice were already out, he had the gumption to not stick his hands in the layout (only because he is on stick I suppose). After the roll, he brings the dice to the middle and just stares at the nickel for 10 seconds. I already had my one player’s place bets set up and looked at him. I could see the box had a puzzled look on his face. So I grab the nickel, put up the hardway bets and the stick person gets upset. He says “I’ve got it” and proceeds to set up a $2 C/E and sends the dice out! The box person laughs so hard he almost falls out of his chair. Thank god we only had two players on the game at the time. As the player is setting up the dice she whispers to me “Did I come on a training day?”
BTW, I’m now a dual-rate in dayshift where I work. God I love days! Sure, the traffic is slower, but it’s nice getting off work somewhere between 6 and 8 at night. I forgot how great it was to be able to sleep at night.
