One of the funniest replies to the rants and QQ about the incoming Paladin nerf (or nerf of any class) I’ve ever read:
from wowinsider.com comments about ret pally arcticle..
“Go ahead, enjoy your days of OPness. Just remember, though, that they will come to an end. The nerf bat may swing slowly, but it hits hard, my friend. And then? Even after you are nerfed into safety-padded, foam-rubber oblivion, you will still have to deal with the world’s hate and resentment. You will be Target Number Uno in every BG and Arena, long after the days that you represented some disproportionate threat are gone. And when, despite being nerfed to a shadow of your former OP self, you do actually manage to kill someone, you will get neither credit nor glory. You will hear the mutterings of “Oh, a ret pally killed me? Figures. Stupid OP class…” even when the devs have left you with nothing but Crusader Aura and your hammer. So enjoy, young OP ret pally. While you can….
Love,
The Warlocks.”
You can tell he’s lived it. Problem is, I don’t think the warlock’s low’s on their roller coaster ride were as big a drop as ret paladin’s are. Retrbution is gonna go from the nothing it was to this exalted high that it has been for a couple weeks since 3.0.2 back down to next to nothing (hopefully not). All of the perceptions and way they are treated could very well be generalized as he says.. you can tell he’s felt and experienced the perceived OP’ness of his class in such that people won’t grant him recognition of skill playing it. Problem is.. warlock’s never got nerfed into the ground. Ret could very well go from nothing to The King right back to nothing.
That’s a much wilder ride than warlock’s ever had.. even if they suffered like he said, warlocks still rank pretty high on the power scale. We’ll see what kind of a plunge the retadin takes.
I better duel Systine soon if I wanna have any chance of winning.. ![]()
