Only thing that comes to mind is The Truman Show with Jim Carey. I remember the movie posters used a mosaic like that.

Ok, mental note, stay away from women and literature when submitting a WIT pic.

Do I need to send in a new image or have people given up on this one?

  11. CraigNo Gravatar says:

    Another clue perhaps.

  12. ScottNo Gravatar says:

I’m still looking, although it’s less and less each day.. I’ve got nothing.

  13. PeteNo Gravatar says:

I will give you a clue and it will be brief.

I’d never heard of Neil Gaiman, this “rock star of the literary world” before. That and I wasn’t into comics back in the mid ’90s.. about the only comics I was ever into was.. and you’ll laugh but Groo and that was only because of Mad magazine. Sergio Argones did all the doodles on the sides of Mad and I liked them, so I started reading Groo.

I’d go every Wednesday with my comic buddies to get their stuff and we’d go for Chinese after. I’d buy something here or there, but never got into any. That was back in the late 80′s.

Oh guess the official answer is it’s from the cover of the 1994 graphic novel The Sandman: Brief Lives.

  15. PeteNo Gravatar says:

Correct, Scott! I only recently finished reading the graphic novels (as well as Neverwhere, American Gods, and Anansi Boys) and enjoyed them all tremendously. I will admit that some of the artwork in that series is truly amazing, but some of it is just awful crap. I’m curious how you figured it out, Scott. Was it as simple as a Google image search on the words Vertigo, brief, lives?

  16. ScottNo Gravatar says:

I’d searched and searched, before, for all manner of combinations of vertigo, lives, collage, faces, cover, the names of who that overall face might have been etc etc etc looking through hundreds and hundreds, possibly thousands of images via normal google images and through cool iris walls of them to cycle through faster. Bumpkis. When I was able to through “brief” in.. it didn’t take too much more digging through regular links to find enough stuff to find the image. Using vertigo threw so much superfluous stuff that I assumed had nothing to do with it, making it more frustrating LOL I didn’t have much to go on.

At least I wasn’t the only one with no clue what the heck it was.
